We are so delighted to announce that From March, Melissa Kent Psychology will begin trading as The Glow Centre.
Why the new name?
Since first opening our practice 6 years ago in Melbourne, and then 3 years ago in Kenmore, we have grown from just me, to a practice offering clients a diverse and experienced team of 7 clinicians, including psychologists, social workers, and we are excited to announce that from March, we are welcoming a non-diet dietitian. We have also grown to offer group therapy and support groups, for both our clients and the wider community.
Our new name is a much better fit for the practice we are today – a team of warm, understanding clinicians committed to helping clients find their ‘glow’, with our values of collaboration and clinical excellence.
We are continuing to offer our same level of care and service to our current clients – from the perspective of our current clients, nothing will change except the signage on the door and the name we say when we answer the phone.
We are also continuing to welcome referrals for children, adolescents, adults and families experiencing common concerns such as anxiety, depression and stress. In addition, our clinicians all have individual areas of specialist training and experience in Borderline Personality Disorder, PTSD and complex trauma, eating disorders, disordered eating, body dissatisfaction, relationship difficulties, and grief and loss.
What else is changing?
Aside from our name, the most obvious change (as you’ve probably already noticed) is our logo. Our logo represents the sun in the sky, emerging after a storm. We have chosen the sun as it fits well with our vision of helping people find their glow after whatever storm life has thrown at them. It is also a nice evolution from our rainbow logo, which represented Melissa Kent Psychology.
We’ve also launched our new website, which includes lots of detailed information about who we are and the services we offer. We will be regularly making blog posts about topics that are relevant to our current and future clients.
From March we are welcoming a non-diet dietitian to our team, who has loads of experience working with people with mental health difficulties. We will announce this person to you as soon as we have worked out all of the logistics of getting them on board.
What does this mean for current and future clients?
