Our Services

Psychology

Psychology is the study of the way people feel, think, act, and interact. Through a range of strategies and therapies, psychologists aim to reduce distress and enhance and promote emotional wellbeing. Psychologists are experts in human behaviour, and have studied the brain, memory, learning, and human development. Psychologists can assist people who are having difficulty controlling their emotions, thinking, and behaviour. This includes those with mental health problems such as anxiety and depression, serious and enduring mental illness, addictive behaviours, and childhood behaviour disorders.

Treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)

BPD is a common mental illness. People affected have difficulty managing their emotions and impulses, relating to people and maintaining a stable self-image. BPD can be highly distressing for the person affected, and often for their family and friends too. It can be confusing and easily misunderstood, but BPD is a very treatable condition. At The Glow Centre we offer a range of specific treatments that have demonstrated effectiveness in treating BPD, as well as support for family members, partners and carers of people with BPD and related difficulties.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

At The Glow Centre, we offer a range of DBT options, including individual DBT, skills training groups, and a combination of both.  When someone is referred to us for DBT, we perform a thorough assessment and develop an individualised treatment plan in collaboration with our client, depending on the level of intensity that each requires.

Treatment for Eating Disorders, body image concerns and body dissatisfaction

Eating Disorders are serious mental illnesses that do not discriminate by age, gender, ethnicity or socio-economic status. However it is important to remember that successful treatment and recovery from an Eating Disorder is possible. We use a range of evidence-based treatments for Eating Disorders and body dissatisfaction, incorporating psychological treatment.
